18/09/2017 – The Italian Job – Day 9 (Monday) – Rome

Early start for the 0710 train to Rome giving a early arrival to enable a full days sightseeing.

First stop for the day was the Vatican City.Museums, which involved a lengthy queue of 2 hours. Helen was heard to say to one of the “Jump the Queue” salesmen “It’s ok we’re British, we’re use to queuing.” There is a lot to take in, in one visit and really needs to be visited more than once. Here are some images that show the contents and the huge volume of people inside the museum.

After leaving the museum it was then to St Peters Square for a further look at the Vatican City.

We then headed of for a visit to the Coliseum, which needs to be seen from the inside to appreciate the size of the arena. Here are some images from the inside and outside
