Early start for the 0710 train to Rome giving a early arrival to enable a full days sightseeing.

First stop for the day was the Vatican City.Museums, which involved a lengthy queue of 2 hours. Helen was heard to say to one of the “Jump the Queue” salesmen “It’s ok we’re British, we’re use to queuing.” There is a lot to take in, in one visit and really needs to be visited more than once. After leaving the museum it was then to St Peters Square for a further look at the Vatican City.

We then headed of for a visit to the Coliseum, which needs to be seen from the inside to appreciate the size of the arena. Here are some images from the inside and outside
