On Wednesday 28th we had a family trip to Cardiff Bay to meet up with relatives. This presented the opportunity to take a few pictures of familiar subjects in the winter sunshine that was present that day. First up is a few images taken of the Millennium Centre.
It was good to see that the Water Tower water feature was back working again.
Every time I have visited during the last year this has not been working. It is always worthwhile to hang around the base looking for photographic opportunities as you will find people who are always willing to touch it or get wet.
With the low afternoon sun took a couple of shots that are probably only available at this time of year. Firstly a bit of a self indulgence shot playing around with my long shadow.
This was then followed with two low sun shots where they were back lighting buildings, firstly one across the water of the St Davids Hotel and the other featuring the balconies of an apartment block.
There is always the occasional wildlife shot to be had around the Bay, although didn’t go looking for any grabbed these two shots around the Mermaid Quay area of the a Cormorant silhouette and a Great Crested Grebe in winter plumage.
Finally some photos of the “People Like Us” statues in Mermaid Quay which were being lit by the low sun.
The photos above were taken either on a Canon SX50 or a Samsung S5 phone
